Hi, my name's Darren

Nice to meet you!

I've been a lot of things in my life, and currently one of these things is someone who is a passionate educator. My interests are diverse, however astronomy, astrophotography, and photography in general have me solidly in their gravitation pull. Unsurprisingly these are the subjects I've built my pursuits around as an educator.

Currently I participate in these adventures in a number of ways: I volunteer my time at my local astronomical observatory doing public outreach, I'm on hire seasonally doing the same work, I teach photography classes at a local university, and I own a small business that distributes specialty astronomy and astrophotography equipment. I also moonlight as a camera repair technician doing various types of modifications and customizations to customer's camera equipment.

I like what I like and I like it a lot, and if you were to see my office you'd passingly wonder if one day I might be found buried underneath a pile of astronomy texts and camera gear (I suppose it's good that I don't live in an earthquake-prone locale!)

The best way to get to know me is in person (or via video call) so feel free to reach out to me through the email in the page footer if you don't already have a means to contact me. If you're here it's likely that I sent you here on purpose, however, and it's my hope that you liked what you saw.

Cheers!
